Heritage Open Days

Every September some 46,000 volunteers across England organise 5,500 events to celebrate our fantastic history and culture.

It’s a chance to see hidden places and try out new experiences – all of which are FREE to explore. Established 25 years ago these have grown in popularity and more details can be found at https://www.heritageopendays.org.uk/.

Our Society is working with HOD and organisations around the harbour and up the river to open up locations free to visitors and to provide a new insight into our wonderful heritage. These include hidden rooms in Lostwithiel, new vistas in Lerryn,  tales of piracy at the blockhouse in Polruan, Civil War stories in Golant, World  War Two in Fowey and the history of the tugs of Fowey.

In light of the current Covid-19 situation we are postponing this to September 2021, but watch this space.
